Disc ball valve is a commonly used and widely used type of valve, which is installed horizontally in various pipelines to cut off, distribute, and change the flow direction of the medium. Disc ball valves can be divided into one piece, two piece, and three piece types. How to correctly and quickly distinguish different types can be better understood through the following.
One piece ball valve is an integrated type composed of a ball, PTFE ring, and locking nut. The diameter of the ball is slightly smaller than the diameter inside the pipeline, similar to a wide style ball valve.
Two piece ball valve is composed of two parts, with better sealing effect than one piece ball valve. The diameter of the ball is the same as the diameter of the pipeline, making it easier to disassemble than one piece ball valve.
In terms of pressure, the three piece ball valve has much higher pressure resistance than the one piece and two piece ball valves. The outer edge of the three piece ball valve is mostly fixed by four bolts, providing a good tightening effect. The precision cast valve body can achieve a pressure of 1000psi ≈ 6.9MPa. Higher pressure requires the use of forged valve bodies.
From an economic perspective: The three piece valve body, which is composed of three parts, has higher pressure compared to the two piece and one piece valves in terms of material and price. One piece price discount, as the main material is significantly less than two piece and three piece.
